Blooming Colors Originals
At the age of 7 Lori Bloom drew Holly Hobby and showed it to her mom who exclaimed, “It looks like we have an artist on our hands!” She was immediately put into art classes, thus beginning her journey in the art world

Lori works intuitively, letting the canvas tell her what the story will be. Colors collide, drip and flow, teaching her to let go and have no expectations or fear of what the final piece will be. It is a process, and Lori believe her soul leads her in creating. She sees the story come to life slowly, often reflecting on emotions derived from childhood experiences, found images and symbolism. Watercolors, Swarovski Jewels, modeling paste, acrylics, hand-made paper flowers, and a variety of other materials. The viewer will find various types of textures lifting off the canvas, creating movement and inviting them in to look closer for hidden details.
“It looks like we have an
artist on our hands!”
Completing a BFA from Purchase College, Lori opened a mural business, Blooming Colors. Her work can be found in homes and offices across the tri-state area. After starting a family, Lori decided to share her love of teaching and earned a Master’s in Art Education and a Masters in General Education. After 15 years, her passion to create original artwork sparked again. Currently Lori works in her studio in Bridgeport on her art and with The RiseUp Group to bring arts to the local communities. She also works with Silvermine Arts Center in their Outreach Program.
After years of teaching in public schools, I am now pursuing my dream of being a full time artist.
