Blooming Colors Originals
A simple journal page turned into a surge of artwork in a new and freeing style. Watercolors, Swarovski Jewels, modeling paste, acrylic paint, hand-made paper flowers, and a variety of other materials all add depth and dimension to my creations. The viewer will find various types of textures lifting off the canvas, creating movement and inviting them in to come closer.

I work intuitively, letting the canvas tell me what the story will be. Colors collide, drip and flow, teaching me to let go and have no expectations or fear of what the final piece will be. It is a process, and I believe my soul leads me in creating. I see the story come to life slowly, often reflecting on emotions derived from my childhood and the symbolism found in nature.

“It looks like we have an
artist on our hands!”
My name is Lori Bloom. At the age of 7 I drew Holly Hobby and showed it to my mom who exclaimed, “It looks like we have an artist on our hands!” I was immediately put into private art classes, thus beginning my journey in the art world.
With a BFA from Purchase College, I opened a mural business, Blooming Colors. My work can be found in homes and offices in the tri-state area. After starting a family, I decided to share my love of art with children and earned a Master’s in Art Education.
After years of teaching in public schools, I am now pursuing my dream of being a full time artist.
